Over and Out!

Hi everyone,

I have been thinking a lot lately about my blogging. I have been neglecting it for the past few months as I have been focussing more on creating than I have blogging. I don't have as much time these days and in general the time it takes to create, edit and publish blog posts is becoming too much of a task for me. I've also been pondering 'why' and 'what's the point?'. I started my blog a few years ago to use as an avenue to share my creations. The reason I did this was because I learnt so much from reading other people's posts about scrapbooking, the tutorials they went to the effort of making so that I could learn new things and become the scrapbooker that I am today. I wanted to share the love and started blogging in the hope that I would inspire people the same way that other blogs have inspired me along the way. Believe me when I say that I do not believe for one minute that I've learnt everything there is to know about scrapbooking, I have so much more to learn! I just don't have much time these days to keep a blog going as well as creating all that magic.

So I have decided that I won't be posting here anymore. It doesn't mean goodbye though. I have created my own facebook page and plan to post photos of my work there as I go along. I feel it will be much easier than blogging. I will just post a photo and add a simple caption to it. I'm sure that it will only take up a quarter of my time to do this.

To those who followed me along the way thanks so much for reading! I hope you can continue the journey with me on my facebook page which is here: Miss Nicky

Wish....

Most of my thoughts have been around Tash lately. She has been in hospital since Easter and as each day passes she is getting worse. I decided to create this layout this morning so that I could be distracted for a little while.

I don't have anything else to say other than we love you Tash and wish you could stay with us!

School Days....

Just a quick post to share another layout that I made this week. This is my nephew Hayden and niece Ava from their school photos last year. They are the cutest little chipmunks!

So Pretty...

Hi Everyone,

I've been suffering from insomnia the past few weeks and have had many mornings where I am wide awake at 2am. Around an hour later if I'm still awake I give up and decide to just get up and do something. So I've been getting ready for work then heading in to my scrap room! Not the ideal thinking or focussing time of the day for me but I've still managed to get a couple of layouts done!

A friend of mine from work is a photographer and has been showing me some of his work lately. When I came across this photo it really hit me. It's beautiful! This bridge is just around the corner from our house and I drive over it every morning on my way to work, I've done so for over 12 months now. It wasn't until I looked at this photo that I realised just how pretty it is. I guess I'm too focussed on driving and getting to work to take time to smell the roses? So I asked him if I could use the photo for a layout and was so happy he said yes!

Thanks so much Tony for letting me use your work and for reminding me to appreciate the little things. Since seeing this photo I have opened my eyes a little more....

Project 52 - 2013 Week 14....

Last week's page has been dedicated to my nephew Jordan. As mentioned in this post, I took him to watch the Adelaide United team training session on the saturday. Here is the page to capture it....

I thought I should also share with you a book update while I'm at it this week. My book is getting bigger every week and I still have around 20 pages left to use. I better start using less or it will burst!

Project 52 - 2013 Week 13....

I'm still playing catchup and once this page has been posted I only have this week to post then I'm up to date. Well, once I've made this week's pages that is!

Last week was Easter and we caught up with my family on Easter Sunday for morning tea at the park. Shannon and I made it a quick visit as we needed to head down to Victor Harbour. On the day before his sister Tash was admitted to hospital. She has been battling breast cancer for a while and is at the stage where she needs extra care now.

This week's page is focussed on Tash as it was the most important part of the week to me. It was lovely to spend time with her in the hospital as well as some of the family. My heart feels so heavy and I feel so helpless knowing that I can't do anything to help her. I just want to make sure that Shannon can spend as much time with her as possible as it's these moments that I miss the most about Mum. Just having her here and even if it means sitting in a hospital room all day I'd give anything just to be sitting there chatting with her.... To hold her hand.... To tell her I love her one more time....

The photo is of Tash and her eldest daughter Amy. It was taken the day after we visited by one of the girls. It's such a beautiful photo and so nice to see them both together!

The highlight of last week was my best friend Tim celebrating his 40th birthday. He had a lovely day with all his friends and family in Sydney playing bowls followed by a gorgeous cake that his wife Deb and her cousin Nicole made for them. I have placed this photo into the pocket that I made out of the photo of Tash and Amy along with the journalling for that week.

I am hoping to work on this week's page tomorrow so that I can be up to date again. Until then, stay tuned!
